With Claude-Michel Cluny, who passed away at the age of eighty-four, we lost an author who put poetry in first place. Poet but also novelist, critic and editor, he was above all a discoverer of authors and a smuggler of texts, working tirelessly for a single cause: poetry.
Not seeking to please, not disdaining to be unpleasant on occasion, he seduced readers with his first collection of poems «Désordres», and his first novel «La balle au bond». His prolific work, both raw and demanding, has been repeatedly crowned: Grand prix de l'Académie française poésie in 1989, Prix Renaudot essay in 2002, Prix européen Léopold Sédar Senghor in 2012.
A tireless globe trotter, he accompanied several great editorial adventures of his time, such as the one that goes from «Lettres françaises» to «Orphée», the collection of poetry so important for the discovery of talents from all over the world.
