With Henri Bureau, a figure of French photojournalism disappears.
A great reporter who has travelled around the world to cover the conflicts of the 1960s and 1980s, he has left us with famous photographs, such as the images of the Iran-Iraq war or the photo of a military arrest during the Carnation Revolution in Portugal, Won the World Press Photo Spot News Award in 1974.
In addition, he continued to follow French politics, including the famous photo of General de Gaulle returning from Baden-Baden in May 68. He also contributed to the vitality of French photojournalism, creating the agency Sygma in 1973.
His talent and look at the world will be missed by the profession.
